Accessibility Statement
Last updated: August 2026
Our commitment
Susanne Steffgen aims to make the website https://www.susanne-steffgen.de accessible. This is based on the requirements of the Barrier free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as far as technically and editorially feasible.
Compatibility status
This website is largely compatible with the requirements mentioned above. Individual content and features may not yet fully meet the requirements. The website is continuously being improved.
Measures implemented
Among other things, the following measures have been implemented:
- Skip link to main content
- Semantic structure with clear headings and landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer)
- Keyboard operability, focus traps and visible focus
- Support for “prefers reduced motion”
- Descriptive alternative texts for meaningful images
- Language attributes for pages (German, English, French, Polish)
- Floating aids for font size, contrast, link underlining and read aloud with play, pause, stop, previous next paragraph and text highlighting (settings are saved)
- Slideshow with pause control and status announcement
- Accessibility statement and feedback channel
Known limitations
Despite these efforts, the following limitations may currently exist in particular:
- Read aloud uses the browser’s speech synthesis and may sound different depending on the device. Word by word highlighting depends on browser support; the current paragraph is always marked in supported browsers.
- Automated and manual tests continue to be expanded.
